POLYPLEX USA Completes Purchase of Vacumet Plastics From Scholle Corporation

Polyplex USA LLC, part of the Polyplex group of companies, has completed its purchase of substantially all of the assets of Scholle’s Vacumet Plastics Division located in Austell, Georgia.

This acquisition, effective July 2, 2012, strengthens Polyplex’s vision to continue to grow, create value and establish global leadership in the film business. With the integration of this Austell facility into Polyplex’s U.S. operations, will hope to redefine the metallizing industry in North America by establishing a reliable supply chain, quality products and an expanded product portfolio.

Polyplex’s new 8.7 m wide polyester film line, with a capacity of 65 million pounds integrated with resin, is currently under construction in Decatur, Alabama, and is expected to start production by fourth quarter of 2012.

The U.S. expansion coupled with the company’s new thick film line in Thailand will increase Polyplex’s global polyester film capacity to 470 million pounds across India, Thailand, Turkey and North America.
