Incorporated in 1915, Decatur General is the largest and most technologically advanced health care provider in Morgan County. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Decatur General is licensed for 273 beds at the main campus and for 64 beds at the Behavioral Medicine Center. With a medical staff consisting of more than 200 physicians representing 33 specialties and more than 1,000 employees, Decatur General is one of the largest employers in Morgan County. The hospital is also an affiliate of Huntsville Hospital. In addition to their general acute care services, Decatur General offers several unique services such as the only certified Primary Stroke Center in Morgan County, the only facility in the county to offer Robotic Surgery and the largest fully accredited Sleep Disorders Center in Morgan County.

Parkway Medical Center is a 120 bed full service hospital located in Southwest Decatur with a diverse 181 member medical staff.  Now a member of Huntsville Hospital Health System, Parkway is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and opened Alabama’s first Chest Pain Center.  With a history that dates back over seventy years, Parkway Medical Center has had a significant impact on the development of Decatur.  Today, Parkway is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the area while continuing to meet the healthcare needs of the Tennessee Valley.
